Try getting in with some native sql tools. If you can, and see all of the BUSOBJ tables, then try again. Looks like it just had issues connecting to the database.
I got that error the other day when we moved our repo to a temporary place for the purposes of testing something. I call it the ‘Old MacDonald’ error…EIEI0 OK so not so funny…
We had basically messed up the table move. Things were just out of whack. Have you done anything different to your repo recently?
Another thought I had – has the login in the BOMain.key file been granted Select privileges on all of the repository tables (50-some-odd number of them).
You say the bomain.key is fine – what do you mean by that? You can use the same bomain.key file on another work station, and you’re ok?
Update: I had this error again recently and it was a result of having more than one ociw32.dll file. We renamed the one in the windows folder path to .old, fired up BO and all was well. Old MacDonald error resolved
Problem:
“Server error-USR0057”, click on details following is the error
"E1000||1010|| , clicking on OK, it gives cannot reach repository database. (USR0045)
BO version 6.1, Oracle 9.2, I am not sure where from take an appropriate BOmain.key - I dont want to run a Configuration Tool or Supervisor either generate, a new one with wmainkey utility. Can I just copy it from an existing servers, if so what about *.lsi and the other files like sdac.lsi, pdac.lsi files… Can I just copy them too ? I just need to coonnect to the repository with Desktop Products - not the another server to the repository - I dont know the BO user ID and the password at the oracle DB…
If this server needs to connect to the same repository as another server – then, yes, copy the BOMain.key from that other server. Are you sure it’s the same? Is there any reason it’s not in the same cluster as the other, then?
Forget about the *.lsi files. They’re local security information files - and will get created as needed.
Hello, Anita - First of all thank you very much for a fast response :)…Secondly it’s interestning that your name sounds so familiar from somewhere…Suddenly I have thaugt that I might know your name or mabe some famouse actress carries the same ;)…nice…
Well as a BO newbie I dont know much about the infrastructrue…and I am not sure if this installation shoud or must be connected to the cluster at all. I thaught…that Desktop Product are connecting directlly…
The point is that I want to use only a Desktop Products on a new server and connect to the repository with minimal worload…(or reading hundreds pages of manuals busy with other things…
Is this possible to connect to the repo without connecting to the cluster…?.
I have here Europe-2Tier.key and a BOmain.key bud I dont know if its valid its from the repository.
Other possible way is that …Do I have to run a Configuration tool and define ORB and so on…and mabe only that the valid Bomain.key will be generated…
…no idea what to check next…
Like I said earlier dont know a BO ID at oracle DB…
Thanks in advance
and Best Regards
Hmmmm… well, that would be news to me! If I were famous, I think I’d use a stage name, not my married name, any way!
Oh, Sorry – I misread it somehow. If you’re just using desktop products, then yes, definately use the BOMain.key from another machine. And still don’t worry about the lsi files. But then you do mention that you want to use them on a server – so that’s what makes it confusing!
Well, you need someone who knows how those keys were generated, to tell you which one to use. It’s even possible that they’re copies of each other.
I’m having the same problem and have gone through most if not all of the resolutions presented on the board. The one thing I have noticed is that the middleware checker on install made comment about the Oracle 7.x and Oracle 8.x running OK. Only problem is…my app is running 9.x.
Unfortunately, there are some many new changes to my pc since my HD crashed that I don’t know where to start. I’ve gone from 2000 to XP and have found another oracle app on my pc that "comes with the image’
