Server Clusters

Hello all,

I’d like to ask about experience with server clusters. We just received a
stronger server for our Webi system and now we’re deciding weather to use the
current server and the new server together as a Webi cluster(my preferred
choice), or to move everything to the new machine and use the old one as
dev/backup. Our hesitation comes from the fact that our initial installation of
Webi v1and also the upgrade v2 were fraught with complications and so I’m not
sure setting up a cluster is as easy as the manual says it is. Comments?

Also, I tried to look this up using the archives: I sent “search cluster in
BUSOB-L” in the body of a message to listserv@listserv@aol.com and it replied
with my message saying “no command sent”. Does that phrase have to be in
quotes?

The cluster set up is no big deal. Just make sure you are on 2.0.1 before
you use 2 servers.

Your first server is already the cluster manager. Simply install your
second server as a cluster node and use the same OS Agent port#. If you
have a problem, just stop WebI on the server and all process will be on the
original one.
