sending encrypted email via BusinessObjects version 4.2

I searched here and google for encrypted email for BO v. 4.2, didn’t find any direct hits, here the posts were from 2013 and mostly XI.

Our requirement is for email to be digitally encrypted AND signed. And since we use Google Docs (for Government), we were told can’t use it, since we can’t provide a digital signature using our Gmail setup, we’re on the side of the road, email wise.

I see in BO 4.2 we have the option for SSL. That sounds good! Secure.Socket.Layer is about all I know.

Looking for general guidance on secure email (via scheduling) in BO 4.2, or specific guidance on sending emails using Google Docs (for Gov’t).

Mak 1 - thank you!

I saw that article yesterday (which was written 4 years ago) but stopped reading in the first paragraph, because I thought he was referring to BO 4.x that doesn’t support SSL, which I see IS available in 4.2 (which we just started using).

So (layman’s question here on encrypted emails) - if we got all that set up per the article, and we send encrypted emails (to a Google Apps for Gov’t) email recipient, don’t they have to “un-encrypt” it to be able to read it?

We are also considering sending to sftp location. So layman’s question # 2 - do you think we could “sftp” to a Google Drive (“G Suite”)

4.2 SP 04 blog post:-

As far as I’m aware the receiving mail client should decrypt the message.
I’m unsure whether you can schedule to a Google drive, I have never tried.
