You don’t have to check the box. It is actually a leftover from WebI 1.0.
It really provides little added value. I believe what it does is embed HTML
in the report before sending it to the repository.
However, if you don’t check the box, the users will still see it on their
list (after a refresh) and be able to display the report in WebI.
I understand the mechanics and efficiencies a little differently. Please
advise if my understanding is incorrect.
(1) If you check off this box, the document is embedded as html. It is
very quick for the users to open the document. It does not use the WebI
report server mechanism when the document is simply opened.
(2) If you don’t check off this box, the html is dynamically created when
the user opens the document. It takes a little longer for the document to
open as the WebI report server mechanism is used to generate the html. If
the user then hits the refresh button, the document will be refreshed in a
shorter time than if he / she would hit the refresh button when the report
was sent using option 1.
