We are facing an issue in Design Studio’s Analysis Application when viewed from BI Launchpad after we upgraded our BW system to BW 7.4 version.
The ‘Search’ option in dimension filter component in missing for some dimensions but present for some dimensions. Checked some forums and could see this issue is not seen in Design Studio 1.5 - BW 7.4 combination but with combination of BW 7.4 with Design Studio 1.4 version and other lower versions.
The ‘Search’ option disappeared for dimension filter in Analysis Application has been resolved now after implementing the OSS Notes #2111196.
The issue was due to the RSR_HIER_CARD_THRESHOLD value in RSADMIN table of BW hwich was set up as 50000. As the datasource of our analysis application is BW, the search option disappeared for dimension filter which has record count more than 50000.
We have now updated the RSR_HIER_CARD_THRESHOLD with value : 60000 in RSADMIN table.
However, if the number of record exceeds 60000, we would face same issue in future. Heard Design Studio 1.5 doesn’t have this issue irrespective of record count, not sure though.
