I don’t know who changed this nice working search component for BOB which has been working fine. This new search component is GARBAGE!
It really doesn’t work and tries to break down the search content for you even though you don’t want anything left out.
Point of fact, I entered a phrase to check and it said it could find it so is spliced it up and came up with 1(sometimes 2 words) from the phrase.
Looking through the multitude of postings I was able to find my exact phrase in its entirety!
I spoke with others who have been working with BoB since its initial inception and they agree.
Who ever changed the search component please revert it back to the way it was. For the most part it is Unusable and again GARBAGE!
Hi, the search is working today exactly the same way it has been working since the board started over six years ago. What has changed is more feedback is provided as to how it is working. For example, before the upgrade you might search for “universe” as the only search term and you would be informed that no results matched, when clearly there are many posts here that include that word.
The search option had never offered an “exact phrase” search, something that has been well documented and in fact is in multiple posts in this forum and in the sticky at the top of the page.
All of this and more was covered in your first post on this subject, so there really was no need to bring it up again without something new to offer.
