Scheduled reports in pending status between midnight and 1am

Hello friends, we are having a strange problem with our scheduled reports on Crystal Server XI R2. If the report is scheduled between midnight and 1am it simply stays in “pending” status and never comes back from there.

We discovered this problem with a SDK application that was automating scheduled reports. The reports always went to pending during that hour and never come out of pending status. We tested with Infoview and found the same result. It always works correctly at 11:59 but always goes pending at 12:00. BO Support told us that there is a “tombstone” process running during that hour for cleaning up “orphan” jobs. The workaround is to schedule the report to run Once at the current date/time instead…

I wonder if anyone has run into this or found workarounds more recently.

I had this exact same issue in Business Objects XIR2
I noticed that a job scheduled between 00:00 & 01:00 would stay in Pending for 23 hours & then run
You can verify if this is the same for you by querying the CMS database through the Administration Launchpad tool “Query Builder” & query the report instance that you created & look for the value for SI_STARTTIME; in my case it was 23 hours later than expected & this is the time the report will run
The issue was resolved in CHF14 (although in the release notes there was no specific mention of a fix for this issue - it may have been a side-effect of another bug fix)
