Schedule Report for user but hide rerort

Hi,
I want to schedule a report on behalf of a user in the CMC using the ‘Schedule For’ option. I need to do this as the user has a restriction applied at universe level which I need tp pick up. However the report I’m scheduling is in a folder which I don’t really want the user to have access to. Is there any way to put the report in a folder the user does have access to but somehow hide the report?

Thanks…

Are you sending the scheduled instance as a shortcut or a copy? If a copy then all you need to do is put the report in a folder that the user cannot see and schedule it to send a copy to the desired destination.
If you want to send a shortcut then you need to create a couple of folders. First create folder that the user cannot see. Then under that folder create another that the user can see. Place the report you are scheduling in the second folder. This works because when the user clicks on the shortcut the system checks to see whether the user has permissions to see the target which in this case is the second folder you created. The first folder doesn’t come into play except in InfoView. Since the first folder is hidden the user cannot navigate to the second folder.
