Saving As HTML

I’m saving a report as HTML. It’s a sizeable report and I’m saving it on my hard drive. It’s is taking Netscape about 2 minutes to bring it up to my screen. It appears the HTML code that BusinessObjects creates is very chatty, meaning that for every cell of a table, it specifies the font size and color. The file ends up being about 500 Kb. Even when I save the report as HTML without different font sizes and color, the file ends up being 200 Kb but still takes about 1 minute to be brought up within Netscape. Is there anything different that I should be trying ?

We’re using BusinessObjects 4.1, Netscape Communicator 4.0.4

Thanks,
Matthew

Matt,

Try breaking up your report into a master/detail, if you haven’t already. Then try the “Section by Section” switch when choosing options for the HTML. This will create a page per Master. So you’ll have 100 2kb files vs. 1 200kb file.

Hope this helps.
