save as excel

Hi,

How do I save a crystal report (Crystal XI) in excel format with each field populated only one cell. Right now one field appears over several cells and it doesn’t look good.

Can anyone help please?

I have never come across that issue. I know that when you export to Excel (depending on the options you choose), it will not expand the cell to the largest data size and it looks like it occupies multiple cells, but I do not know how to fix this.

You have a couple options when exporting to Excel. Select “Microsoft Excel (97-2003) Data-only”.

When the next screen appears, be sure to select the Options button to expand the screen.

In the lower section, select: Column width based on objects in the Details.

After the data has been exported, open the Excel file, and expand the width of the columns so you can see all the data.

You need to align the fields properly. Dont leave any space between fields. Make sure title if any in page header and detail object are in same size. Use guidelines which would help you to do it.
