SAP User ID for Certification

Hi all,

I am trying to register for WEBI XI 3.0 exam, but its asking me for SAP user ID.

In the past, I have given level 1 exam, without any problem. I checked SAP portal for the same, but it didn’t help much.

Any Idea…

Hi

Are you trying to schedule the exam or getting training materials from SAP…?

Hi
I think it might be Crystal Id, which is getting generated when you are giving exams. As you have given one level, for next you have to register under your same Id so then after competing all exams they have proof that same person has given all exams under one Crystal Id for certification

hello,

Just like Data_Guy, I wanted to take a BOCP-CR certification; however, when I created a web account at www.vue.com so that I can schedule a test, it was asking for a SAP User ID. Does this mean that we need to be SAP customers or partners before we can take any BOCP certification exams ?

Hi Mobious
For certification its not required to be partner or customer. If possible talk to VUE helpline and they might help you for same. Or you can directly talkt o your exam center where you are planning to give exam and ask them what to carry when you come for certification exam It might give you clear idea for same

Just Got reply from SAP:

==============================================
If you have not already done so, you can contact our Central Registration group at 1-888-777-1727 and select option 1 twice. They will be able to create a profile for you.

They will need your name as you wish it to appear in your profile and on your certification, your email, your phone # office/home and mobile and your mailing address.

If you reach a voicemail when you attempt to call them, you can respond to this email and we will create the profile for you if you provide the aforementioned information.

Regards,

SAP Education

=========================================

I did mine, will take few days for the same.

Thanks

hello Nirav,

Thanks for the advice; I did ask Pearson Vue about this, and they referred me to SAP Education because according to them, they cannot override this policy, which makes sense.

hey Data_Guy,

I followed Vue’s referral and contacted SAP Education about this via their website. I am still waiting for their response, though. I’ll keep you guys updated on this.

Thanks much.

Hello Duncan,

Same here. I have contacted SAP Education from their website and i haven’t gotten any response yet. Its been just about 2 business days now.

hi manav,

It’s been about 4 business days since I last contacted SAP Education concerning the SAP User ID necessary for obtaining access to BOCP certification tests. No response yet. Some of us are independent consultants, so we may not have any access to any SAP system, but we have access to the Crystal Reports Developer application. Let’s just try to wait a couple more days.

hello Data_Guy,
Is there any location in SAP website where we can send a request for a special user profile for us to be able to avail of the opportunity to take BOCP certification tests ? Any info you can provide is greatly appreciated. Thanks much !

Guys,
Have you tried to contact Exam center directly and ask them is there any such requirement. I had given exams in June 07, before SAP changed whole processes. So not sure what’s been changed and how?

If you are customer of SAP , you might have Account Manager who is handling your company’s accoutn and you can directly get in touch with them, they might give you more information in right direction…If someone is in touch with SAP BO Account Manager ,need a favor to these guys and post the updates (unfortunately i dont have account manager info as i work as consultant)

Regards
Nirav

hello gents,

Yes, we did try to contact the exam center concerned directly, Pearson Vue, and we were directed to SAP Customer Service. Going through their FAQs ( of SAP Customer Service ), it was stated that " one does not have to be a SAP partner or customer in order to avail of the certification process, but one does need to get an S-User ID. "

What SAP wasn’t clear about was HOW to apply for an S-User Id. It can never be found in any of their other FAQs, however, if a question is raised to them via their Contact form, they will reply. Please just provide a valid contact information.

I recently got a response from them, and it is the same as what Data_Guy has posted; one has to call 1-888-777-1727 and select option 1 twice. This is the first step an aspiring applicant for BOCP can take in order to be able to get yourself a profile, and eventually, your own S-User Id.

I think they are doing this as part of their quality control mechanism; taking a BOCP certification is a privilege. Guess we all must prove that in all honesty, we all have a good experience in using Business Objects Crystal Reports somehow, and that we all have access to an Official installation of Business Objects Crystal Reports.

Hello everybody

I am trying to register for crystal reports XI certification at pearson vue. I am asked for sap ID. However during S-User Id registration, I am asked for installation number or customer number.
I have worked on crystal reports version 8.5 thru XI in last 4 years. I lost my job 2 months back and currently I am not working. How am I supposed to register for certification exam?

kums (BOB member since 2009-04-26)

Hi All,

By looking all the post above, i presume that the SAP has changed the process. In last year, you just need to show your identification proof in the authorised prometric centre to take the exams.

Hi Shiva, The link above is for creating user’s profile by providing an email ID. It does not generate S-user ID. If it does then please let me know. Thanks.

Data_Guy, please let me know if you had to provide installation number for S-user ID.

kums (BOB member since 2009-04-26)

Hi Guys, I got the sollution for this.

I faced the same issue before while i was registering for BO certifiction.

I struggled for one week to get S-User ID. I contacted all the departments like SAP India, SAP support, BOSAPASIA, SAP Central registration USA, SAP Education India, Pearson View…

Finally i was able to get the S-User ID from SAP Education India. Even this department advised me to contact SAP Central registration USA but they do register only USA and CANADA citizens.

One thing i want to let you know guys that without your company mail id you wont be able to get the S-User ID. I GUESS I am right.

Here iam giving the step by step procedure to be followed to get your SAP User ID

Step 1. Create your profile by registering in SAP with your company Domain mail ID. Use the below link for SAP basic Registration

https://www.sap.com/profile/login.epx?E7B7B4281DD70EB10F4AE243735C239122B443D75A412E76F14A35022D0729A1FFC275E2205FFF35AA6A58E8203C053266435BD36403FA7B83118DF1D3A4669D
In Relationship to SAP drop down list select “Partner”.

And now call up your country SAP Education department and ask them to give the partner number for your company .

Step 2. Then go to the link
https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/new_user_pass/infouser_request.htm
And once you get that number got to above (step 2) link and from Customer or Partner options Select Partner and Enter the partner number given by SAP education. Fill up other details and click submit.

Now you will be issued a registration password which you need to note down and wait until you receive a mail from SAP Service Market place.

Step 3.Once you receive the mail confirmation, click the link which you receive in the confirmation mail to retrieve your registration id and initial password (this will be your SAP User ID)

and follow the steps given in the mail.
And once you retrieve your user id and password go to the link
https://websmp110.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/011000358700000026192009E/
and click login where you will be asked to change your initial password.

If this doesn’t work call up SAP Support of your country and request them to issue a SAP User ID. They will help you out through the whole procedure.

And let me know if this really worked…

hello all and scsreeramula,

Thank you so much for the detailed procedure; however, I am afraid that this won’t work for Mr. Kums. Please remember, that kums has informed us that he recently lost his job, and won’t have any customer data to show for it, which is as we know, is needed by the SAP Registration process. Upon contacting support here in the US, all they could do was provide the telephone number I and Data_Guy mentioned in the past postings.

I am seeing several aspiring BOCP candidates here in the US who aren’t affiliated with any SAP partners or customers. My only wish is that SAP could have created a much more straightforward methodology in addressing this particular issue. These aspiring BOCP candidates could be future vendor evaluators who might be tasked in acquiring Business Intelligence Solutions for their respective companies, hence, future SAP partners or customers.

If anyone has a solution for this situation, or if SAP Customer Service is reading these posts, please let us know of any viable and straightforward alternatives.

Best regards,

OK everybody. I contacted SAP Central Registration (USA) today and explained my situation. The rep asked me for my name, email , phone and address. She created my S-user ID over phone, the whole process took <5 mins. Thanks to data_guy and Duncan for their valuable suggestion.

kums (BOB member since 2009-04-26)

Hello Duncan, If you are in USA or in CANADA just call 18887771727 and they will register you in few min asking you few details

Achilies :india: (BOB member since 2008-12-04)

If you’re in the UK just email education.uk@sap.com, stating your name, address, phone number and that you require an s-number.

A few days later you’ll receive a letter in the post with your newly created s-number.
