I would like to be a bit proactive with this thread - I would like to start a listing of useful SAP T-Codes when working with Data Services or the SAP Rapid Marts - When starting a project that sources from SAP it would be useful to ask BASIS to grant you access to the following:

SM37 - System Monitor - View or Cancel background jobs generated by Data Services
SE16 - Data Browser - allows you to view contents of a table
SE11 - ABAP Dictionary - allows you to view structure meta-data
SQVI - Quick Viewer - allows you to create queries against SAP table(s)
SE37 - Function Editor - allows you to view ABAP function modules (i.e. AW_* objects)
SE38 - Program Editor - allows you to view ABAP programs (useful when running in Execute Preload mode)
