Hi all,
SO I’m starting to think that SAP as of late is not taking into consideration the affect on customer when they decide to make a change.
To give example:
we have the BI Launch pad embedded in our internal company portal in an Iframe ( yes I know I frames are evil) we tried the embed tag but it would not work. Placing the Bi Launch pad in an Iframe worked fine in BOE 4.1sp4. We are in the process of upgrading to BOE 4.2 sp3. We have discovered the SAP has done a security update where they have hard coded in the HTTP header of the pages the “X-FRAME-Options” taking away the ability to iframe embed the BI Launch pad in a portal. Having it Hard coded prevent the customer (me) from overriding the setting via the Tomcat configuration ( normally you can over ride x-frame-options via a few config settings)
I contacted support… after several days of back and forth with them they came back with it is a Security update and we will need ti live with it. Also the KB article for the update would not be available for another month.
I have seen several other posts as of late that is making me feel that SAP is not taking affect on customers in consideration when they make changes.
Also as part of my ticket with SAP support I got a boiler plate response basically say that my ticket was not an error in the product and I should have gone to their “JAM” site to post a question. Basically their version of the BOB board. But with their history for support being so bad I have reservations about their “JAM” site being helpful…
What has been your guys experiences and thoughts? Is SAP taking the customer affect and experience into consideration when making changes
