SAP GUI on SAP Data Services server

Hello,
We are using ‘Generate and Execute’ for ABAP data flows with background set to enabled. The Transport Method is RFC.

To execute an ABAP Dataflow, whether the SAP GUI needs to be installed/available on SAP Data Services server machine?

I am not using the Direct Download method or not trying to upload generated programs either. This is just to execute the ABAP data flow.

The version is SAP Data Services 4.2 SP08

No, don’t need a SAP GUI on DS Machine for executing an ABAP data flow.

We had an issue with the RFC transport and when contacted support they responded that the missing SAP GUI tool on the DS machine is causing the issue.

Wondered, why you need a SAP GUI for executing an ABAP dataflow? Nevertheless, it was a gateway issue.
