SAP Explorer -- Can we trigger an infospace on a file event

Hi All,

is there any script or out of a box sol to trigger infospace scheduling based on file thats dropped in a shared location?
SAP Explorer does not allow scheduling on events like WebI.

Please assist. Thank you in advance.

Yes - CMC>Events>File Based Event.

Generally, the credentials which Business Objects runs under (found via the SIA) must have read access to the network file location, and you must remember to schedule your content for before the file appears in the network location. You should also ensure the file is subsequently removed as simply replacing the file will not trigger the event again.

Thanks McNelson, problem is unlike launchpad, explorer does not allow scheduling based on an event. I am aware of creating file based events but how to utilize it in explorer?

Unfortunately, Explorer scheduling is not as robust as the rest of SAP BI scheduling. Event support is one of the limitations. It is unlikely the situation will be addressed until Explorer functionality migrates to Lumira.
