SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0 foder eating the drive

Hi,
I’m in the process of migrating our organization to BI4.0.
I installed it on a new server, and used the upgrade management tool to import our repository. Other than that, it’s not yet active.
However, it’s still taking up more and more space.
The folder
C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0
is weighing in at 37GB, out of which
C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\Data\PlatformSearchData
is 27 GB.
I take it this is mostly the new Lucene index.
Is there any way I can configure it?
Is it expected to just keep on growing?
Is there a point in inlarging the disk by another 20-50 GB, or will that too just get taken up and need to be increased in a few more months?

Thanks!
-Ethan

Look for HUGE log files or temp files cluttering your drive.

It’s not log or temp files.
The PlatformSearchData folder alone is taking up almost 30 GB…

Don’t index all the options provided in the Platform Search, Just pick 2~3 options like Crystal Report, WebI reports etc. and deselect all the other options.

You can delete the index generated and start the process again. Once all the files metadata or the selected options are indexed, you should be good to go.

what files can I safely delete? everything in the
C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\Data\PlatformSearchData\Lucene Index Engine\index
folder?
in CMC, I selected Rebuild index, but I didn’t see that that’s deleting the existing files.

You have to re-start APS Service because Platform Search uses APS to index the metadata.

My platformsearchdata folder also consumes lot of space like already 40 GB in the default C:\ drive. Is it advisable to store “Data” folder in an another drive where we have lot of spaces and configure the indexing there. Thanks in advance!
