SAP BO Explorer - Index Creation Failed (GC overhead limit

I am unable to complete indexing on a specific information space
Error message: Index Creation Failed (GC overhead limit exceeded)

ENVIRONMENT: SAP BO BI 4.1 SP4 Patch3; 2 servers - one server has application components and another has web tier/Apache tomcat
using *.UNX universe for Information space

Additional Details:

The following changes/settings have been attempted so far but this has not fixed the issue:
-Increased memory on all Explorer servers; Xmx6g for Indexing Servers and Xmx3g for other explorer servers
-Increased Tomcat maximum memory to 8192MB; tried lower memory before settling in on this.
-Increased XX:MaxPermSize to 1500M from 256M on explorer indexing server
-Added GC Limit parameter in Java options in Apache tomcat configuration:
-XX:-UseGCOverheadLimit

  • Recreated information space; also tried creating information space on efashion and indexed that without issues
-Restarted tomcat, Server Intelligence agent, Explorer servers etc

Anyone seen this? Any other suggestions? Some of the columns added to the information do have lot of data approx. 8 million records. SQL Server db.

Thanks

I do not want to hijack your topic, but I am facing similar issue.
Same errormessage on smaller dataset. Xmx parameter of the indexing server is set on 5GB. Output dataset is about 2.2 million records.

We are running BI Platform 4.1 Support Pack 5 Patch 9

So any clues are welcome.

We have other spaces having more records indexing without being hampered by a GC overhead limit…
