Hi Board members,
since today our BO DS system receives the following message when trying to connect via Salesforce adapter:
We’re using the following URL to acces the Salesforce adapter:
BO DS Version:
Designer: 14.1.3.875
JobServer: 14.1.3.875
JobEngine: 14.1.3.875
Repository: 14.1.1.0000
Question:
How can we change the Salesforce Adapter that it will use TLS 1.1 or higher?

for DS 4.2 you can change the Adapter JRE to 1.8, check the following KBA
2275588 - How to update Data Services Adapter JRE to 1.8
you can try this for DS 4.1 also, but I am not sure if everything will work fine or not, give it a try, for DS 4.1 you can use the JRE 1.8 that is on your system (SUN/Oracle JRE)

what is the OS on which DS Adapter job server is running ?
did you change the JRE version to JRE 1.8 under %LINK_DIR%\ext\jre ?

Hello manoj_d ,
Our connection to SFDC Stg is okay now. I upgraded the JRE for SAP DS to version 8. Thanks for the input.
I hope this would help others facing similar issue.

Hi kmamalias/manoj_d
Can you please let me know where you have downloaded the SAP JRE 1.8.
I am unable to find it in the Downloads section of Service Market Place.
Thanks,

go to http://service.sap.com
click on download
in the search box on the top, enter SAP JRE 8.1
you will get a result under Select Next Category, click on that, and you will see the download
check the attached image
jre81.zip (59.0 KB)

Has anyone experience with changing the JRE from 1.6 to 1.8 in DS 4.1?
Is it working without issues?
We don’t have a sandbox / isolated system where we can just try this…

you can try on your 4.1 env, you don’t need a longer downtime, it’s not going to impact anything else
the %LINK_DIR%\ext\jre is used by adapters only
use the Sun/Oracle JRE 1.8
let me check if I can find DS 4.1 env to quickly test this
if you run into any issue, let me know
