running the BO servers on non standard ports

Hi all,

I need to know how to get the bo servers to register with the cms when it is running on a non-standard port. The port I’m using is 6409, so I have tried adding -port 6409 to the command line string, but that didn’t work.

I’m running two instanceson BO on the box hence the need for non standard ports.

Any thoughts?

TIA,

Jeff

Have you changed the port under the CMS properties?

This may help you…

I should have been more clear… I’m running XIR2 and the CMS is on port 6409. The problem is that I cant see all the rest of the BO servers in the CMC. I can only see the CMS server. How do I register the rest of the BO servers and make them use port 6409. I have tried adding the -port 6409 line to the command line. It didn’t work.

How did you change the port for the CMS? You should be able to do this so the other servers pick up the new setting.

I changed the port in the ccm to 6409. That actually adds the line -port 6409 in the command line. The problem isn’t the cms it’s getting the cms to see all the rest of the servers.

Got it.

The command is: -ns hostname:portnumber not -ns cmsanme:portnumber

Thanks
