I got a message saying I should resend this message although I think it worked the first time. Sorry if it is duplicated.
Is it possible to rotate the fonts 90 degrees in the headings? What I am trying to do is squish the columns together as much as possible.
Along that same line I have another issue. This is a crosstab and one of the columns of data has large numbers and all the rest have very small numbers. However since it is a crosstab all of the columns size the same. Is there a way I can narrow them and leave the one column wide enough to hold the larger numbers?

Hi Greg:
An easy solution for rotating a heading might be: a) Select the cell
b) Choose Format>>Cell from the main menu c) On the Alignment Tab, select “Wrap Text” d) Narrow down the cell to the desired width e) Double click on the horizontal line at the bottom of the cell This will make the cell tall enough to hold the heading. Not exactly
a “Vertical Text” option but it will get you close to what you want.
As far as the crosstab is concerned, I have an example I will email you directly as I am not sure I should be sending attachments to the list. If anyone else is interested, please feel free to contact me.

found this in the archives and although it traces back to 1998 I wonder if this is still the best resolution. I am trying to do something very similiar - make thin columns in a crosstab and I would like to rotate the heading titles to list vertically. Anyone know of a formatting trick I may be overlooking - thanks.
Another trick is to create a chart, which allows true vertical labels, then hide everything within the chart but the labels, and position the chart properly on top of your table…
