Rich Client replacing DESKI

We are in the midst of planning our migration to XI 3.1 from XI R2. I have been reading posts and manuals about the new rich client and am still left wondering what we will really be gaining.
Looks to me the gains to get closer to full client are:

  1. 2 tier log in (get away from WEBI timeout)
  2. Excel as a data provider
  3. Ability to work off line
  4. Folds - although limited (not much documented about it)
  5. Ability to have more than one document open at a time

Are there any other gains to get closer to DESKI I am missing?

Hi Mike,

This can help:

Thanks that is helpful. I am tasked with building a business case\gap analysis for the rich client without any real experience with it. Other than looking at it briefly during webinars we have no experience with it.
