RFC connection Successfull from one and failed from other.

Hi,

We are trying to read data from IDOC’s SAP. We have configured all the pre-reqs and were able to read the IDOC’s as message type in real time jobs. As we had to move the jobs to QA soon and our QA environment was down for maintenance, I tested client interface connection from BODS DEV to SAP QA (cross platform) and it worked fine. This was just to make sure the RFC was set with correct parameters on SAP side. But today when the BODS QA is up and running, I created a connection in the client interface which resembles exactly the same parameters to the one I tested from BODS DEV. But it throws the below error. Did any one face this issue . Please post your suggestion.

Connect error…Error connecting to XXX_CLIENT. Error: RFC_COMMUNICATION_FAILURE- LOCATION CPIC (TCP/IP) on local host with Unicode ERROR service ‘SAPGW20’ unknown TIME Mon Jun 09 19:37:32 2014 RELEASE 720 COMPONENT NI (network interface) VERSION 40 RC -3 MODULE nixxsl.cpp LINE 184 DETAIL NiSrvLGetServNo: service name cached as unknown COUNTER 3 [SAP Partner]. For detailed error information, see the log. RFC Client will try connecting to XXX_CLIENT in the background. To stop trying to connect from the background, perform ‘Shutdown’. (BODI-300116)

Assuming that once an RFC connection is established from BODS DEV and that is the reason for the failure to connect from BODS QA. I have requested to create another RFC destination (New) in SAP QA. But still we are facing the same issue.

Connect error…Error connecting to XXX_CLIENT1. Error: RFC_COMMUNICATION_FAILURE- LOCATION CPIC (TCP/IP) on local host with Unicode ERROR service ‘SAPGW20’ unknown TIME Mon Jun 09 19:37:32 2014 RELEASE 720 COMPONENT NI (network interface) VERSION 40 RC -3 MODULE nixxsl.cpp LINE 184 DETAIL NiSrvLGetServNo: service name cached as unknown COUNTER 3 [SAP Partner]. For detailed error information, see the log. RFC Client will try connecting to XXX_CLIENT1 in the background. To stop trying to connect from the background, perform ‘Shutdown’. (BODI-300116)

There is a standard document for Setting up IDOC’s from SAP SDN Receiving IDOCS. But I have not seen a single user responding on real time services issues and usage. Yes, there are couple links in BOBJ that show the error handling but they are all intermittent. I still face issues with real time services.
