Reusing prompts

Hi,

I have a Web Intelligence Xi report which uses 2 queries, one taken from Univ-1 and the other from Univ-2. The result is then displayed through a Merge Dimension.

Now each of the 2 queries use the same set of Prompts - 1. Enter start Create Date & 2. Enter End Create Date and the user reponse to the prompts is the same i.e for Query1 if Enter start Create date= 1-Jan-2010, then Enter start create Date for Query 2 is also the same i.e. 1-Jan-2010

So, while running the report the user has to provide input for 4 prompts 2 sets of Enter Start Create date (same value entered) and 2 sets of Enter EndCreate date (same value entered for both the prompts).

Now the customer doesn’t want to enter the same thing twice and wants to enter it once which is to be re-used in the other query.

Is this possible? If yes, would be nice to know how this can be done.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

It’s possible. You have to use the exact same text to refer to the same prompt, including white spaces, use copy and paste if needed. ie. your start date text has to be “Enter start Create Date” in both query. Same thing for your end date “Enter End Create Date” for both queries.
