Retrieving all values from a BEx query when using BICS

Hello everyone.

I have a BEx query with a prompt connected to a spreadsheet cell (Selected Values box) but I don’t know what value send to the BEx query to retrieve “All” the values. I’m using SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards 4.1 SP02 and a BICS connection.

In the previous version, and using a Live Office connection, I used to send a empty cell value to the query to do it, but in this version and using a BICS connection it doesn’t work.

I also tried to send these values: “”, ‘’, #, NULL and 0 but doesn’t work.

Does anyone knows what is the correct value?

Hi everyone!!

I already solved!!

You need to change the variable type to “Several Single Values” in the “Details” tab of the variable definition window. (BEx Query Designer)

This to change the prompt type to “In List” instead of “Equal to” in SAP Dashboards.

Now we need just bind the prompt value to an empty cell in Excel, and the query will retrieve all the possible values.
