Hi,
I am trying to retrieve a published universe in IDT ( Business Objects 4 SP2).
And the options from the repository and from local folder is disabled ( greyed out).
Any idea why this is disabled and are there any steps to follow to enable it?

I am having the same issue.
In the Universe Designer, that .unx file doesn’t show up. Any suggestions?

The advice to use Universe Designer is rubbish.
You are lacking rights to import universes, local connections etc. via IDT, please ask your SAP BI BusObjects amdinistrator to assign you the necessary rights.

It’s not necessarily a permissions issue. When I got started with IDT I remember being similarly frustrated. I think what I had to do first was create a “project” that would be used to hold the imported universe. Until I had created a local project, I don’t think I could import.
It has been a while, but perhaps that’s what is going on here?

Also, make sure you have established a session with your enterprise system. You can’t retrieve a universe until you log in.

Also, make sure a project is selected in IDT when you retrieve (there might be multiple projects open) . If it is not then the options are still grayed out under File --> Retrieve the published universe…

Isn’t it amazing how simple everything is in IDT? All of these options just to be able to open a universe…

The more time I spend in IDT, the less I like it. There are too many missing features, and many workflows are just too convoluted.
