Brent,
I too had this same experience with restricting objects.
BusinessObjects’ response was that they were aware of the problem and
that they would log it as an enhancement request for the next release.
Unless I was doing something wrong, I could not get the restriction
working hierarchically the way you would think it should. It was an all
or nothing.
Anybody else have a take on this?

I searched the archives and found that this question was asked before
but there was no response to the list. In supervisor I am trying to
restrict access to a whole class of objects from everyone except people
in one group. The first step I did was do restrict the class of objects
at the root level. That works fine. When I remove the restricted
objects for the particular group that needs the access, the restricted
objects appear to be available to all of the groups again. My
assumption was that only the members of the group I removed the
restriction from would have access to the objects. Am I missing
something in my understanding of how this function is supposed to work.
I am running BusObj 4.1.3 on Windows NT 4.0.>>Thanks for your help>
