RESOLVED Pie Chart Not Drawing Properly

Hello all-

I have made a new dashboard with 2 selectors that is designed to show gender percentages in one pie chart based on selections and Race/ethnicity by percentage in a second.

When I test my “Prep” excel with data manually plugged in to the place that the selectors will populate I get good valid data in the location that the pie charts are supposed to use.

When I preview the swf in Dashboards or when I export the dash to PDF, I get odd behavior in my pie charts with some year/school selections drawing perfectly and depicting valid data and other times I get odd results with the tables displaying as if no data was generated or as if the data is skewed all to one or a very few values.

I am sure there is some issue with my calculation criteria or my selector set up, but I have been unsuccessful in ferreting out the issue. I know that the data set is big, but it is what’s needed right now. Processing time is not an issue right now for this one.

Could some kind soul take a look at the attached set of files (created in Dashboards 4.0 SP5) and let me know if you see anything amiss?

Thanks very much-
Patti

I was actually looking at this early this morning. This one still has me stumped as to why it is not working.

One thing you can do is change the appearance of the Data Labels from Percentage to Value

Appearance > Text > Data Lables > Label Contains > Value.

This will mask the error for Continuing & Professional Studies.

As for 2013 > Liberal Science, I’m still not sure why that is not working.

I’ll continue to play with tomorrow AM.

Thanks for the feedback Greg, I updated the files attached to eliminate the typo for the Professional studies school.

If my numbers are already percents in excel might that be the issue?

Hmmm

PS I am loving SUMIF

Note that a colleague identified that I had mis-typed the search range in the beginning of my SUMIF formula. Once that was resolved the pie charts drew accurately.

I had incorrectly listed the whole range for the match (F10:L549 for example) when it should only have been the range with the key (F10:F549)

Once that was corrected it worked perfectly!
