We are using SAP Business Objects 4.1 SP6 w/Tomcat 7 on Windows server 2012 and have discovered that when we reschedule a WEBI instance it does not retain the prompt values of the original instance but reverts to the default values. Also when trying to set default prompt values for WEBI reports in the CMS it does not retain updates but reverts to the original value. Has anyone else seen this behavior?
We have exactly the same issue as you described. We did upgrade from BOE 3.1 to BI4.1 SP6 and then we found the same issue.
Not able to set up default prompts parameters on WEBI reports and not able to reuse parameters from WEBI recurrings when creating new recurring based on old recurring.
Could you let me know if you find out any solution please?
I created an incident with SAP and they had their development team fix it.
According to SAP the correction will be available in SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform 4.1 Support Package 8. I looked at the maintenance schedule but I don’t see SP8 listed so I don’t know when the fix will be available.
I really appreciate your response. I waste a lot of time to find a solution. In this situation I create also a ticket in SAP. Ones again thank you for your rapid response. It was my first question on this forum and I am very happy with it.
Best regards.
I want to update you about my issue with parameters. Some time ago I got response from SAP that my issue was resolved in BI4.1 SP06 Patch 6, I installed it in test env. and finally it occurred the problem was resoled for Launch Pad but it was completely broken down in CMC. It means that I can not change any WEBI parameters from CMC.
Do you have any more experience with it?
I have not worked with this issue in a while. SAP says it is fixed with SP8 but I have not applied it as I’ve been dealing with other issues with the software.
We found the same issue in BI 4.2 SP3 patch 12, after we upgraded from the patch 4. Has anyone else seen the same problem in any patch of the 4.2 SP3 version and if yes, what’s the solution?
According to an SAP note (2582874), this issue is “supposed” to be fixed in 4.2 SP4 Patch 7. However, we are already on the mentioned SP and Patch level, and the issue is only partially fixed. When scheduling in Webi format, prompt values are retained, but scheduling in any other format causes prompt values to be lost. An incident is logged with SAP. SAP has confirmed that the issue is reproducible on this SP and patch level. Waiting for them to get back with a solution.
