Repository Metadata

Does anyone know if there is a place to get BO repository metadata? We’re finding a need to query the repository and are making lots of guesses as to its table structure, joins, etc. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks!

Well…the Repository Metadata is not supported by Business Objects. However, if you know the connect string for your BO repository database.(and password of course)…you can go in there and query the objects existing. Some of the usual tables that exists are listed below. However, one won’t get any documentation on these schema objects. However, I am sure there are many gurus in this list who have dug into those tables and know the inter relationship. So go into these tables and fire in your specific query. Some of the objects are such that you can make a intelligent guess on what data they hold. Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Vinay.

Erik, look at the information contained in this folder of your installation CD.

F:\Freeware\repostry
Start with F:\Freeware\repostry\rpindex.htm (F: is the drive letter of my CD.)

Good luck.

Erik,

There is a universe which comes with BO called Managero.unv which is the repository universe. You should be able to use this.

Only if you use Oracle and do not need to see the version 5 changes…
