In Crystal Reports you can add a logo to the ‘Logos’ folder under repository items in the repository explorer.
I can’t seem to find where to grant edit rights to this folder.
We want select users to be able to add/edit logos to this repo folder but they receive a ‘…you do not have edit rights to the folder: Logos’ message.
is there a place to grant this right without them being in the Admin group?
I can’t find it
Yep you can simply give them (using a group or if it’s for all your users using the Everyone group) the Edit right on that particular folder. You override the inherited right.
thanks, but i think you misunderstood my question.
I understand how to grant rights.
My question here is ‘where’ to grant this specific right.
I can’t seem to find it as this is under the Repository Items in crystal reports, and not a folder within the regular folder structure.
thanks
It’s been a while since i used business views and a friend reminded me where to edit these rights in case anyone is interested.
In crystal reports go to business view manager>view repository and rights and be tweaked there.
Isn’t the security of the Crystal Repository Items controlled via the CMC as I am required to logon to BOE? If so, where do you set the security to allow users to add/change the content contained within the BOE? Is the only way to maintain this security via Business View Manager? We are using BOE XI3.1
Thanks,
Sue
Did you ever find anything out about that? I have modified the permissions as described in this post and even though the user is now able to create/delete objects, they are receiving an error that they do not have permissions to save objects to the repository. It leads me to believe that there is also a CMC side permission that needs to be set here.
