Report show me old values

Hi,
I’ve just changed my old DB with new one but when I execute query, show me old values and old object (old DB).
I’ve changed path on Designer, it take data change but WI XI no, WebIntelligence take old values.

Shall I change path anywhere? :hb: :hb: :hb:

Thanks

Create a new report and apply the, report level, Connection() function, what DB is the universe pointing at?

Did you try what Mark suggested above? What does it give?

I am getting a feeling that the universe in Infoview is old one since the newly imported one has not updated the existing one due to some reason.Re-exporting the universe might help

When i try to get information to input to Connection() ( with the function Supplierdata() ) it show me Error -> WIS :30270;
I don’t know data to input into Connection(), so i try to get it from Supplierdata(), but i can’t. :frowning:

P.s. New universe has exported

Data provider/query name should be the input of Connection().

Sorry but i’m a newbie, Data provider is the name of universe or something else?

Thanks for patience

Hi r34lg3n1u5.
Are you exported the universe with the changes or only are saved it?
Are you sure than is updating the universe or maybe are you created one new universe in other path?
Good luck!

If he is just chaging the connection details, he should not have to export as this happens or should happen, on the fly.

I create a new one, load into Designer and exported (when export, save it consequently).
When I open my universe in WI XI, load old DB’s data.

You should amend the original connection?

Mak 1 :uk: (BOB member since 2005-01-06)

OK, should be that, but where i can amend the path?

In Designer I did it, but for WI report?

:frowning:

Well r34lg3n1u5, just for your information there are two places were the names of the universe exist. If you open the universe , File->Parameters will show you one name. When you do File->Save as then you get an option to save the universe.
To my knowledge , the name of the universe is shown in the Infoview as written in the Parameters. So in case you are planning to overwrite the universe then please check the names available in your old universe at both these places and then act accordingly.
This will help you to confirm whether you are refering to the correct universe or not.

yeah !!! I’ve created a new dimension in new DB and when i open it from WI Xi I see the new dimension  but now there’s another problem, the values in the dimension are not same with those into Designer

If I apply some change in values from Excel, Designer update that but report show me old values.

r34lg3n1u5 (BOB member since 2010-04-19)

Ok, so you are using Excel, would have been useful if you had said that in the first place.

Have you updated the path on the ODBC DSN on the BOXI server or just your workstation?

Mak 1 :uk: (BOB member since 2005-01-06)

You have reason!

yeah, I’ve updated the path on the ODBC DSN; WI now load new DB’s objects but don’t visualize correctly the values in there.

I’ve done a simply report, only for visual data, but is not correct.
