Report fetching more than Universe limit!!

Hi All,

I have fallen into a g8 trouble as, I need to my report fetches around 4 lack records, and there is restriction on the universe for 2.5 lack records,
so what can I do to get all the data.
Any IDEA is welcome…

One I could think of is to generate the CSV of the data and use it for the report, but still looking for better options as I am sure u guys would have many of those…

Change the value in the universe parameters.

Clear the restriction on the universe. If universe itself is limiting the data, the report cannot fetch more data.

[P.S: By the way, what is the usage of bringing of about 4 lakh rows into the report?]

Just read your PS, Jansi, and wondered what a lakh was!

From Wikipedia (so it’s bound to be true!):

A lakh (also written lac) is a unit in the Indian numbering system equal to one hundred thousand (100,000; 105). It is widely used both in official and other contexts in Bangladesh, India, Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Pakistan, and is often used in Indian English.

In English the word is used both as an attributive and non-attributive noun, and with either a marked (“-s”) or unmarked plural: “1 lakh people” or “1 lakh of people”, “5 lakh rupees”, “5 lakh of rupees”, “5 lakhs rupees”, “5 lakhs of rupees” are all to be found.

The Indian numbering system also uses separators differently from the Western system after the first three digits, a comma divides every two rather than every three digits, thus:
* Indian system: 12,12,12,123    5,05,000    7,00,00,00,000.

* are the same quantities as Western system: 121,212,123    505,000    7,000,000,000
This accords with the Indian naming system, which has units for thousand, hundred thousand, ten million, etc.

So, yes, I’d agree with you questioning the worth of a report containing that many rows. Find out what the customer is using the data for and if they are doing extra processing on it and if you can help with that by improving the report for them.
