'Remove document security' when Save As in WebI Rich Client

Hello everyone.

Could someone help me? What am I missing here?..

Requirement:

All WebI Rich Clients

  • Can Import WebI documents from the CMS
  • Can Refresh the imported documents
  • Can not export documents to the CMS
  • Need to be able to Edit imported documents from the CMS
    To do this they have to save a particular document under a different file name
    ( File / Save As / Webintelligence (.WID)… )
    and check the checkbox ‘Remove document security’

I have been testing this scenario using a specific folder and a user group.
A user from the given group can import/refresh WebI documents from the CMS but when
he is trying to ‘Save As’ the ‘Remove document security’ checkbox is grayed out.

I have even tried it with ‘Full Control’ access level for the given group on the folder but in vain.
But, when add a user from the given group to the ‘Universe Designer Users’ group then it works!
Note: The ‘Universe Designer Users’ group is not given access to the particular folder!

Go to CMC --> Applications --> Web intelligence and assign user security , select the group user is member of and add rights for remove document security
