refresh document when opening - not showing data on report

Hi,
I have checked the “refresh document when opening” checkbox. When I open the report it refreshes but the data is not displayed on the report. If I then click the refresh button thyen again the report is refreshed and then the data is displayed on the report.

Why is the data not displayed when the report is refreshed on opening. I am using 6.1a. Is it a version problem or something?

you are on the right way but also try to purge the data and then refresh it. Also use the Search option which helps you to get the fast reponse

I believe there is a bug with 6.1a and automatic refresh, you might want to consult the bug list at www.techsupport.BusinessObjects.com (requires maintenance contract) or run the report on 6.1b on a test workstation.

Hi Hassan,
Does purging the data really solve this problem?

And ho do I do that search thing you mentioned?
Actually 2 reports are working fine and 2 are having his problem.

When I open a FC doc (which is set to refresh on open) in 6.1a, it doesnt show the tables and when I refresh it once again, the table pops up. I learnt that its a bug (Refresh on Open) in 6.1a. When I tried the same document in 6.1b, it seems to work fine. When I closely observed, I see two hops (like flashes) in the screen before the document is opened. The question is did they get rid of the “Refresh on Open” bug in 6.1b by making a doc refresh itself twice while opening? Thanks tendulkar …

i have a experince on bo 5.1.6 may there is some changes in new ver,
some time it happens that data was not refresh then use the purge and refresh it.But the option u used its 100% correct for refreshing the report on load. Andreas give the links i am sure you get the anwser of your Questions

You need to contact BO techsupport and ask for hot fix 74 (For full client)This should resolve the problem
Or upgrade to 6.1b

Get HOTFIX #151. It will fix the ‘Refresh on Open’ problem and some BOManager Issues too.
