Redirecting multiple queries independently

Hello,

I wonder if anyone has encountered a similar issue…

While attempting to migrate a report with 3 queries (currently pointed at the same universe) to point to 3 separate universes, I find I am unable to do so. That is, while I may have selected only one query for redirection, all other universes are automatically switched to the universe I want to designate for that query alone.

What I currently have is:
Query 1 => Universe A
Query 2 => Universe A
Query 3 => Universe A

What I want to achieve is:
Query 1 => Universe B
Query 2 => Universe C
Query 3 => Universe D

I would be grateful if anyone knows a workaround to this.

Thanks,

Jacqui

Hi Jacqui, welcome to B :mrgreen: B!

I’m sorry. It seems to be a bug. Check this topic.

I faced similar issue and raised a support request to BO. BO advised that it is an expected behaviour, and no intention to change (as on Feb 2009)

Only we have alternate to create queries separately by pointing required provider again.

Now am in BO XI- 3.1 , issue not yet get fixed.

Thanks

I just saw a reply to this answer in the same forum…

First of all thanks to that person…

1.We can point each dataprovider to different universe by clicking ‘Add query’
feature…If we try to use the Duplicate query feature…all the data providers
will point to same universe even if you change it manually…

Hope this helps…

Thankyou all for your very informative responses.

Guna, I am somewhat dismayed to hear that BO regards this as ‘expected behaviour’. :nonod:

In Desk-I you can certainly redirect existing queries independently of one another (even if those queries were originally created as duplicates).

I would have anticipated this same behaviour in Web-I, as it would save a lot of effort. :frowning:
