I’m trying to create a crosstab which would display the top 10 countries
based on ship_amt_YTD; but also display a total of all other countries
which did not make up the top 10. Within the report I also want a
percentage of shipment based on the World total.
Ranking does not seem to satisfy this need (I can get the top 10 but the
percentage is based on the total top 10 and the remaining countries are
lost).
I did a sort on ship_amt_YTD and created a flag based on line count to
identify the top ten and the remaining countries, thinking I could break
on this flag but BusObj won’t allow me to use break.

I have a sample report that I can send you that shows how to do a “Best vs.
the Rest” analysis. I tried sending it to the list, but there is a size limit
on a posting… probably because of long winded people like myself.
If you (or anyone else) would like a copy of the report, it will be on our web
site later this week. I will post a followup notice to the list when it is up.
Today (2/17) our web hardware is down for maintenance, or I would have it
posted already. If you can’t wait until the end of the week, then send me a
direct email at drathbun@aol.com and I will send you a personal copy. Such
service!
Our web site is back up (I think) and the “Best vs. the Rest” technote should
be available. This is essentially a downloadable Business Object report, based
on the (famous) Island Resorts Marketing universe. The report has several
tabs, the first of which shows the raw data, and the next three show the
progression of the report.
The final tab contains instructions for setting up the report.
