Question about XIR2 SP2 Productivity Pack

We are on XIR2 SP2. Now we need to install this productivity pack, so that we can use Live Office. Will it be a new fresh install or just 1 file to be installed. There are 10 files given on BO website under ESD (electronic software delivery). Which is the exact file?

Here is the breakdown of the files on the ESD Site.

  1. SP 2 Part 1 & 2
  2. SP 2 Productivity Pack
  3. SP 2 Collaterals ( Updated version of Live Office Included here).

To further clarify, steps 1-3 are done on the server. Steps 4-5 are done on client workstations. The server-side support for Live Office and QaaWS is included in steps 1-3.

Hello! We are in process of installing SP2 and then Productivity Pack. We are using WebSphere, on a separate server from the BOXI servers. First, we installed SP2 and then redeployed all of the .war files to the WebSphere server. This worked fine.

My question: Do we need to redeploy the .war files again after running the Productivity Pack installation?

Thanks in advance!!

Sorry. I meant to also include this question in my previous post.

Do we need to run the Productivity Pack installation on our separate WebSphere server? Or, just on the BOXI server?

Thanks again!

The WAR Files would need to be redployed on Websphere after the productivity pack installation.

When installing the productivity pack, does one have the option of only installing Live Office? Or are you forced to also install Voyager, content search, and other features?

Careful … you need to separate the server side from the client side. A lot of the server side is enabled by the same web service features. Also, Voyager is totally web-based, whereas Live Office and Query as a Web Service (QaaWS) are client features that you can choose to install independently.

Ok…just to clarify, based on the previous posts, in order to use live office one has to install this server side component:

In addition, one must install the live office client which is on the collaterals installs.

Business Objects makes this unnecessarily confusing.

Where can i find Step 4 and 5 [Live Office and QaaWS for productivity pack]? Is it available with the Colaterals for XIR2 SP2?

I’m done with the steps 1 to 4.
Also, i know that QaaWS is available in my server.

But where can i find the QaaWS component, to start building my own web services?

~ Thanks
