It will be helpful if you can provide more information:

  1. Which version of Business Objects are you installing?
  2. What are the steps you took to install the server components?
  3. Is it a brand new install?
  4. Is the installation and configuration of the repository successful?

Thanks.

If you have installed 6.5 I would check what Security Configuration settings you have made. Also check that the BOMain key is in the loc data directory on your node and is called BOMain

1- i installed BO 6.5.1 server component
2-installed server compnent with IIS and ASP , and added snap in with Win2003 server
3-the installation and configuration of the repository are successful
about Security Configuration i made it BusnissObject authintication and the BOMAIN.Key is located on loc data directory
i need a specified steps to configure security as i feel it’s the reason
thx all for ur replies and give up on me:)

It looks like authentication mode is setto “Basic” or Windows Authentication. In that scenerio, Infoview wont ask for a password.

Check if you have privilages for creating reports.

the authintication is made busniss objects

Hi Robeir,

You will be glad to know it is a common error but can have a number of causes. Please see that attached post If you still have any problems then just post back and we will see what we can do. Yiou have the same configuration as one of my deployments so we should be OK.

Robeir,

Do you have access to the BO Tech Support site? if so you may want to have a look at this resolution 17405:

http://www.techsupport.businessobjects.com/search/Beta/Viewtechresdb.asp?Cmd=View&Level=0&Item=3&ID=17405.

If you haven’t got access to tech support just let me know I will post it here for you
