Is your installation of Excel local or is it also on the network? Do you have the correct read/write privileges on the Business Objects directories as well as the Excel Directories? Do you have the Path qualified in the Autoexec.bat file?
Just a few things you may want to check. I had gotten errors with some of the dlls, but they ended up being a privilege issue.
I have a terrible problem getting Query for Excel working. My users have had a Lan install of Bus Obj 4.11. We are sql 2.3 and oracle 7.34.
I have tried installing on 1) desktop 2) lan connected laptop and have the same error it reads something : corrupt kbuss.dll reinstall yada yada yada.
I have logged this with Tech support and they tell me this is a known bug, three hours later the technician sent me his file - it still is not working and I am at my wits end.
Is there anyone out there that can help me? I am about to blast the tech support because the install i did on the laptop was mine and it corrupted my excel. I had to uninstall and re-install excel to fix it.
Robert is correct in that 99% of the problems we’ve had with BusinessQuery installs is purely down to not having the correct priviledges for the installer to modify the PATH statement. This happens on both NT and 95. Just copying the file won’t help. Just ensure you have the correct path and before using BQ if you have corrected the set up, remove the add-in, close Excel, reopen Excel and re-add the add-in.

I doubt this is your problem, but do verify that you are using Excel from either Office 95 or Office 97 as these are 32-bit versions and BusinessQuery requires a 32-bit version of Excel.
