This post could help you.

By the way you should ask your BO sales rep.

As said in my answer plus in the other post you should double check with BO …

This is not the best resource for legal / licensing questions. We can only speculate as to what your contract says.

Having just gone though this with SAP/BO I can confirm that you would need 2.5 (probably 3 as I never was given the option of buying .5 of a licence) CPU licences for that box.

Options you have are to stump up £75k + support for an additional cpu licence.

Convert your 2 cpu to approx 150 named users (which aren’t cpu dependant)

Virtualise the box using one of SAP/BO’s ‘processor affinity’ approved vendors (we use VMWares ESX server) and limit it to 2 CPU’s worth of processing power.

Cheers.

Yes for sure since you are not compliant!

thanks for the update really helpful i shall report this to Bo and ask for the extra license and get it sorted out .

out it manager doesnt know the licensing i need to convince him about this first thanks

If you have less than 150 users (and plan to keep it that way) convert them to named users, unless BO are doing a deal on concurrent users. It gets rid of the daft way that BO charge per cpu.
