Stupid question time. I have no idea how to set up/configure QAAWS in BI4. I’ve never used QAAWS before…
When I open QAAWS from my pc, I get a little box “Manage Hosts” which is empty. I click on ADD and I get some options to edit a host. I haven’t a clue what I should be putting in these boxes!
Name - name of host presumably. Is this something that exisits or something I make up?
URL - of what?
CMS - name of CMS or URL of CMS?
User & Authentication - can manage that bit!

ETA: Forget that. I did it! Less-than-useful SAP document, trial-and-error and a bit of finger-crossing and I’m in. So far so good.

Name - you choice
URL - something like this http://hostname:8080/dswsbobje/services/Session where hostname is your hostname
CMS - is your CMS by default in form of hostname
User & Authentication - no explanation necessary

Thanks. Just about got in now…
… but why is it showing me all my UNV universes and not the single UNX I created for this very purpose?

No Qaaws based off unx in BO4. Check this post

Oh That was the point of doing it…
What’s the best way of getting data out of a UNX universe and into a dashboard? The link suggests BI Web services in Webi rich client - would that have to be rich client on the server (to which I don’t have access) or from my pc?
Thanks for your help. I’m a complete noob at this side of things. Always got my data through aspx before without bothereing with Bobj.

It doesn’t matter which WRC you are using as long as you are able to connect to the BO system from it. Create a report based of unx, save it to BO system, right click on a table in a report and choose Publish as a Web Service, follow additional steps like naming it and saving in BO.

I started doing that. But as I’ve reported in a different forum, webi is unworkable over the UNX I’ve created.
UNX universe is fine. It’s very simple - a few SQL Server tables and two oracle tables. Nothing complicated - no contexts or derived tables or anything which might cause performance issues.
Separate UNVs over each of the two databases are fine - reports work. But when I create a very simple webi report over the UNX, it takes 30 mins to run in webi, which is just not viable.

I think this needs to be discussed in a different thread because it’s not related to Qaaws.
