Hi,

I want to know the differences between publication,schedule and subscribe and tell me when to use schedule and publication in WEBI.

Nop it s not for interview :slight_smile: We are new to WEBI Report. As a developer we had a confusion when to go with schedule, Publication and subscribe.

If you need to properly ‘publish’ a report, i.e. apply use level row level security, apply filters in reports based on who it`s being run for, split a report up and personalise it etc then you need a publication.

If you just want to send a report to a specific destination, in a specific format maybe with a few parameters, then a schedule will do.

Do we need to set the FTP destination and EMIL configuration each and every time when we run the report if I go with schedule option?

My requirement is setup the FTP destination and EMIL configuration only once ,and run the report whenever user wants but no need to enter the FTP and Email configuration again.whenever the user runs the report the report should be send to FTP destination and mail should send to list of members in TO list.

for the above requirement which option I should go either its publication or schedule?

Do I need to click subscribe every time whenever the user runs the report
