My Environment: BO 6.5.1, windows 2000
I have a repot with 2 data providers. It has 2 different date objects in both the data providers. It has a prompt created in both DP’s with same text on the date objects. While refresing the report, propmt value is being asked to enter twice. I have created the second prompt by selecting from the list of prompts rather than typing the text. Please let me know how to resolve this.

Purge the dataproviders save/close the report and open again.
Then do a refresh and see if you get one prompt.

The possiblilty of erro while selecting the prompot text is less as you had selected from teh list, but just check if there is any space in one of teh prompt text or not after you select.?
Sometimes if there is any space then this problem may comeup.

I tried this option (Purging DP, Save and close the report). After doing that it is asking only once. Then I published the report to corporate documents. . I have the option enabled ‘Refresh document while opening’. When I retrieve the report from corporate documents again it is asking again twice. Please suggest

I created the second prompt by selecting it from list of prompts.

Then remove the prompts totally from the report, export it and import it back.
Now apply the prompt in both DPs and test it again by export/import, the problem should hopefully cease.

Figure out all of the places the prompt is being asked (which might include a prompt built into the universe structure joins or objects).
Be sure that the prompt is spelled EXACTLY the same in all places. If you have multiple report providers with the same prompt – be sure to reuse the existing prompt, rather than typing it in again.
