The error is "Prompts"and below message.
A database error occurred. The database error text is ORA:01012 not logged on. (WIS 10901)

We have changed the universe connection to “Disconnect afer each transation” but still the problem persits.

Please suggest the same at the earliest.

Have seen many formus regarding this issue, unable to get any permanent solution.

That’s more of an Oracle error rather than webi - what happens in rich client or deski?

dessa :madagascar: (BOB member since 2004-01-29)

its in webi infoview reports in rich client.

:?:

Can you run the same query using either Rich Client and\or Deski?

dessa :madagascar: (BOB member since 2004-01-29)

Can you run any queries against this universe?

i.e. ones without prompts… :?:

Mak 1 :uk: (BOB member since 2005-01-06)

its not possible, because all users are accessing the report using prompts.

Create a new query, without a prompt - does it run?

Mak 1 :uk: (BOB member since 2005-01-06)

it doesnt work even after removing the prompt. Giving the same error. Would be helpful if i get some permanent solution on this.

thanks

Try and Google the error

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/834905

As I said its an Oracle error rather than a business objetcs error. What type of connection did you make? Check what connection parameters you have set also - whether its disconnect after each transaction etc…

Are you refreshing your LO’v before use? If you are, don’t and see if that has any effect.

dessa :madagascar: (BOB member since 2004-01-29)

Yes we have set parameter “as disconnect after each transaction…”

uturn :india: (BOB member since 2007-09-26)

I’ve never came across this error before, so I’m guessing (educated guesses maybe, but still guesses).

SO what about your LoV’s? are they set to refresh each time? It maybe that the prompt is refreshing the LoV, then disconnects the session and when you go to run the main query your no longer connected.

So either change the connection so that you remain connected or change the LoV not to refresh.

From where should I check the LOV’s in universe?

thanks

Check your connection, does it work? Test it in Designer.

Can you see table values from designer, right click, table values?

Mak 1 :uk: (BOB member since 2005-01-06)

I had test the connection. It works fine. and the server is responding.
As I am beginner, i would like you to expalain me from where should I check the table values.?
When I check it in parameters and edit the connect, I cant find anything like “Table Values”. Please guide me,
For each object I can click on properties and can view List of values, but I dont think I am looking in right way. Please assist

thanks a lot.

As above, select table right click, can you see values?

What connectivity are you using, Oracle native or generic ODBC?

Can you run the SQL in Toad, using the BO account details, do you get results?

Regarding your points-

  1. Have checked the same, but what if I am using Optional prompt in my webi reports. That will take all the values and from the lov’s.
  2. Have connected through Oracle.
  3. Queries are running perfectly fine in toad.

thanks

Forget about the prompt - for now :).

When you connect through Toad, are you using the BO log in details?

I’ll ask again, what type of connectivity are you using?

Also, how many schemas is your universe referencing?

Have you tried setting upa new connection, to test, maybe the other connection is corrupt?

Are you sure that the right entries for the server are in the TNS file on your BOXI server?

Mak 1 :uk: (BOB member since 2005-01-06)

I have checked the connection its working fine.
Even I am unable to connect to toad and run the query.
After clicking on particular table I can see the List of Values…What I have to do
after that? If my report contains multiple tables in infoview creating one infoview report how can I check all the table values at once?
