Problems with timeout in BOXI 3.1

Hi

Anyone else having issues with getting timeout to work in BOXI 3.1? When we exceed the timeout length we will get a timeout message, but we can still click home (or other buttons) and continue refreshing reports.

Working with SAP support has resulted in many phone calls and netviewer sessions with no positive results.

Any ideas?

Did they ever come up with a fix for your timeouts? We are facing the same problem.

This is the solution SAP gave me…

‘Set logontoken.enabled to false in the web.xml for InfoView.’

looks like this…

logontoken.enabled
false

It seems odd to me because we are using a logon token, but it helped. I was told this determines whether a token is used for session expiration.

They also advised me to change the logontoken.enabled to false. I did but we still see some timeout issues… It seems after a period of inactivity I can click the Document list button and it will reload and get no timeout. If I click a folder I will get the timeout error. We are also using a load balancer and I have asked SAP if we can use the same settings in our load balancer as we had with XIR2 version which had no timeout problems. Waiting on their response.

Just “timeout to work in BOXI 3.1” doesn’t give full detail of the issue.

Is that timeout in Infoview? In View mode or Edit mode (using Java or HTML)? Does your report is having large calculation at the report level (with many data providers and Merge dimensions)?

I am refering to the Infoview timeout. Not viewing reports but the idle timeout. With XIR2 we could leave Infoview up and idle for 8 hours before it would timeout. I am trying to do the same with XI31. I have set the timeout in the WEB.XML files to 480 minutes and set logontoken.enabled to false but we are still getting timeouts. I will review SAP note 1286471
