Hi,
Welcome to B  B :!:

Do you mean that you cannot restart your Oracle DB in your laptop ?
What do you mean exactly by “not responding” ?

Grodan :fr: (BOB member since 2004-12-29)

you have installed oracle client or server in your laptop

Hi rsekar,
i had installed Oracle Client.

Since you have installed Oracle client so it is not responding, I think you should have to install Oracle server in your laptop.Create a new db then you can access.

Rajasekar :india: (BOB member since 2004-07-16)

The DB you try to access is in your laptop or in another server ?

Grodan :fr: (BOB member since 2004-12-29)

grodan,

DB is in my laptop.everything is in my laptop only.its not connected to any other computers.

As said resekar, Oracle client is only used to connect to an existing DB. You have to install Oracle server in your laptop and create a DB.

Hi,
First of all you have install a oracle server in your laptop and then create a database in the oracle. Then you install BO and configure the bomain key using oracle db.

hi

sorry for giving you guys lot of trouble.i am trying to install
Oracle 8 i again ,there are some options

Oracle 8i 8.1.6.0.0
Oracle 8i Client 8.1.6.0.0
Oracle 8i Management Infrastructure 8.1.6.0.0

Previously i had installed Oracle 8i not client, as you guys suggested me

As far as I know, Oracle 8i is not supported under Windows XP. 9i works well though. Just a thought for a starting point.
