Hi,
In my machine I have installed SAP BOE Tools 3.1 (BO XI 3.1).
In the same machine I’m trying to install SAP Business Objects Crystal Report Developer(2008 SP1).It gives an error mesage to uninstall the SAP BOE Tools 3.1 (BO XI 3.1).
Precisely,it doesn’t allow to install SAP BOE Tools 3.1 (BO XI 3.1) and SAP Business Objects Crystal Report Developer(2008 SP1) in one machine.
It gives some dll file conflict.
Any idea?

Hi,
You can not install crystal and BO on the same machine. I think this is mentioned in the installation guide of BOXI 3.1 as well.

Hi,
There shouldn’t be any issue installing client tools and Crystal on the same machine as we’ve had this configuration in CE10, R2 and in test deployments of R3 (am doing R3 training now with SAP and the trainer confirms this).
Have you had prior installs of either set of apps that may not have been cleaned properly i.e leaving residual registry keys or file system remnants?
Also, what SP level is the client tools install medium?

Hi Andy,
I managed to install Crystal Report 2008 SP1 first and then installed SAP BOE 3.1.
But, now i cannot open a report directly i.e. on double clicking on the report.If I right clik on the report and then go to Open with–>Select Crystal Report, it gives an error.
But I can open Crystal report application from Programs menu and do a Open file.Then the report opens perfectly.
Would you know what is the issue?

Did you have a previous version of Crystal installed on the machine?
It might be worth manually setting the file association with .rpt files to the crw32.exe file in the Crystal 2008 install directory rather than selecting it from the list.

Yes…CR XI was installed earlier.
I found out that BO XI 3.1 and Cr 2008 cannot be installed together.
So,we are using 2 machines now.
