Printing to an ASCII file?

Can anyone tell me how to print from BusinessObjects to a fixed width,
uncompressed ASCII file? This is needed to leverage a large scale
mainframe print distribution system already in place.

Hi Anthony,

  1. Do File.Save As , then select Save As Type = *.txt file. Use Notepad or Wordpad to print.
  2. Or do Data.View, click the Export button, fill in what you want and go.

Be careful here: The 2 methods stated below won’t generate a fixed width
file. I think you’ll have to take on a scripting task to do generate fixed
with fields.
