Printing multiple two sided copies

We would like to print multiple two sided copies of a Business Objects report (we are using both 6.5.2 and 5.1.7 - it happens the same in both). When we send it to the printer and specify the number of copies, collated and two sided this is what happens:

It prints the first copy and if there are an odd number of pages it prints the first page of the second copy on the back of the last page of the first copy.

Has anyone seen this before? How can we get around it? If we save to a pdf it works fine but why doesn’t it work directly from Business Objects?

Thanks

Hello,

For your information this is a known bug in BO.

The message from BusinessObjects :
"The issue you are facing has been logged as a bug and the Adapt Number is : ADAPT00572733.
State :Open
Type :DEFECT

Synopsis Printing Issue : Unable to print any BO document using collate and duplex options. (Front and Back Printing).

The matter is under investigation by the Product Group and the status of the bug is open;we as a technical support engineer do not know as to when this issue will be fixed".

Well, may be a solution in an uncertain future.

Did this issue ever get resolved?

I’ve gone through the readme pdf’s up to fix pack 4.2 and don’t see any reference to ADAPT00572733.

Thanks

I have not heard of any fix. We are currently using XI R2 SP3 in production and it still is an issue. We are also testing XI 3.1 SP2 and I just tried that and it does the same thing.

Thanks for the feedback. Frustrating that it’s still not fixed in XI 3.1! :o

Yes, it is frustrating. I guess Business Objects doesn’t consider it a critical issue at this point since they are pushing everyone to move to Webi.
