Printing multiple copies from WebI (via IE)

We access documents using IE 5.0 browser via WebI. To print multiple copies of the documents, we choose the ‘printer’ icon in the ActiveX panel and choose the number of copies (to > 1) and hit OK to print. All we get is only 1 copy in the printer.

Has anyone come across this problem and found a solution ?

We have been working the same problem or at least something similar. We have Webi 2.5.1 and have a report that has multiple pages. Using IE 4.01 or 5.0 when we choose the ‘printer’ icon we don’t get the box that we can select to print all pages or multiple copies. It just goes straight to the printer and prints only the first page. I have this in as a case but we have no resolution as yet. If you find anything out let me know and I will do the same.

Looks like you are one step ahead of us because you can get the window up to select more then one copy - we aren’t getting that far.

Have you both verified that the server is configured ok? W/ the enhanced viewer / activeX printing, you need to have that box defined w/ a default printer…

Just a thought,
Brent

I spoke to my WEB server and we were trying to understand. Do you mean that the WEB Server box should have a default printer on it? or the PC we are viewing the report from? If the printer has to be defined on the WEB Server - does it really have to be able to connect to the printer? need drivers and connections etc???

Yes, we found (bo will back me on some of this) that the box that is running your process (web box) needs a default printer, even tho that is not doing the printing…

We found that the font displays are not right if you don’t, but printing issues would not surprise me either. I installed an HP IV, set it as the default, and it fixed some of my issues… Connection isnt important, doesn’t come in to play.

Good luck,
Brent

We added a printer (with HP LaserJet 5 Post Script Printer Driver) to the NT box as part of our WebI install. That does not help in printing multiple copies of our report via WebI. Any other hints ? I’ve already written to my BO Tech support person on this. Shall post to the group as I get more info.

Well, that didn’t work. He put on a default printer (HP LaserJet 5/5M - Enhanced with drivers on both Web machine and node) and we still don’t get the window to come up and it still only prints the first page of a 6 page document.

Any other help would be greatly appreciated!!!
